Anna Goins '23 Recruiting Profile

My passion for gymnastics has always been present in my life but unlike most gymnast, I was not able to start participating until the 7th grade. My career only started 6 years ago and I am now training to be a level 9 gymnast in the upcoming season. I think this is a great accomplishment in itself, and I would not be where I am today if I let fear stand in the way and if I was not as coach-able. During those 6 years, Covid-19 had a great impact in my career. I trained at home for 8 months outside with only some weights, my coach's lesson plans, a low beam and an air track. My overall goal during that time was to come back in the gym like nothing ever happened. My determination and passion for the sport led me to not give up during that time and I was able to come back, and win 2nd all-around in state that year.
