Mikaylee Pope '22 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I was a young gymnast, it has been my dream to compete as part of a college gymnastics team. Gymnastics has been a big part of my life since I was 4 years old. The sport has taught me perseverance, patience, and commitment, and it also taught me leadership skills, how to work with different kinds of people, and time management. I have had setbacks and challenges, but I’ve also have become a lifelong part of a community and made lasting friendships. I have not only had the opportunity to be coached by truly great coaches, I have also had the privilege to coach others too, sharing the love I have for the sport with younger gymnasts. 

Outside of gymnastics I want to study food science and nutrition, to help other athletes know how to eat and drink healthily and still experience culinary experiences that delight their minds and power their bodies.
