Hello, coaches and Recruiters
My name is Aleah Cortright and I am interested in playing college ice hockey. I have been playing sports my whole life, I was heavily involved in Softball, Dance, Gymnastics, Swim, Soccer, And Basketball. Unfortunately, none of them piqued my interest quite like hockey did.
I decided to try out hockey after attending a Tampa Bay Lightning game when I was 13 years old. I fell in love with the sport, and it quickly became the only thing I could think about. I wish that I had found the sport earlier because this sport changed my life for the better. The past 3 years have been the best 3 years of my life. The worst part about finding a sport so late is not skill matching with the kids around me. I realized that in order to catch up I would have to put in more effort than everyone else around me, I was and still am up for the challenge.
I started at Advent Health Center Ice playing rec, I am lucky enough to have played 2 seasons with the Tampa Bay Girls Crunch and I am very happy to play another season with them. I also have played 2 spring seasons with Freedom High School and will be playing Mitchell JV in the coming season.
I am excited to build my skill and my overall health playing the game I love. I am ready to push myself even harder for the 2 years of high school I have left, picking up every bit of ice and gym time I can get. I have made friends that I will never forget and my passion for the sport seems to grow stronger every day. I am very proud of my skill so far and am ready to build myself even more.
