Ever since I was young, I wanted to be a person that made a difference in this life whether it was for myself or for other people. I set goals that for most seemed unattainable, but for me, they were achieved through lots of hard work and focus. Similarly in the present, I have always wanted to play hockey in college. Ever since I started playing hockey years ago, it has been one of my goals to do in life and to play college hockey would mean the world to me. I dream to be an excellent hockey player and make a name for myself out on the ice while also at the same time, make new friends and creating lifelong friendships and bonds with my teammates. In school I hope to study Pre- Medicine to become a physician’s assistant and to also expand my knowledge of what college life has to offer. I believe that I would also be a valuable asset and candidate for any coach’s teams because of my hard work and effort that I give everyday when I’m on the ice. I believe that giving your best is all anyone can do and that is what I do every time I step foot on the ice. In my opinion also, I believe that with my values of resilience and teamwork, it would influence my teammates to push themselves to do better as well. Being an athletic person has not been new to me either. What sets me apart from most people is that I’ve been playing sports since I was a young toddler. I’ve played over 8 sports in my life such as basketball, track, soccer, karate, and much more. Hockey however is the sport that I fell in love with and will continue to play for as long as I can. Alongside my character and athletic history, my academics is an area that I consider to be very proud of. Throughout high school I have kept all A’s and B’s while taking mainly honors and AP courses. I’ve received many academic awards over my time at Riverview High School such as an academic letter, AP scholar awards and more. This year alone I am taking 5 AP classes while balancing out my sports and work. This alone I feel is what sets me apart from most candidates due to the fact that I can keep myself organized and level while having fun play the sport I love. I couldn’t be able to describe the passion that I have for playing hockey. I will say though, if given the opportunity in the future, playing college hockey would be a dream come true to me and I would fully plan on giving it my all.
