Dear Coaches,
My love for the game of hockey started as a spectator, cheering on my hometown Tampa Bay Lighting team as they played deep into the playoffs year after year. The excitement watching the sport and going to games compelled me to take a few skating lessons and try out for the Tampa Bay Lighting Girls Hockey (A) travel program at age 11….just 5 years ago. I now have been apart of the Florida Alliance (AA) program for the past 2 years and strive to continue with this program until college or possibly be open to new opportunities and programs. My passion for the game, the comradery, and the competition continues to grow with my game.
Throughout the many seasons I have played with a variety of different teams, I have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA (unweighted) and a 4.6 GPA (weighted).
I have been to a number of out of state tournaments with both of my travel teams, having left some of those with 1st place trophies and others with nothing but hockey memories…all of which I will cherish forever and can’t wait to add upon.
I believe what separates me from others is my dedication to my coaches and teammates, on and off the ice. I push everyone to do their best and expect the same from myself in all situations. I pick teammates up, I acknowledge my mistakes, and I work hard to make our team better. I am disappointed when I leave the ice knowing I could have done more; it motivates me to push myself harder the next practice and set a positive example for my teammates. I am not afraid of hard work; but I also like to have fun doing it!
My desire to get better, to prove those wrong, to be a leader and role model for others grows and enhances every time my skates hit the ice. As well as, building on my hockey IQ, skill, and stepping outside my comfort zone to improve my confidence. It is this love for hockey that I want to continue to pursue into college to the best of my abilities.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me, I will be updating this statement as I continue on my hockey journey!
