I love playing ice hockey. I began playing soccer and doing competitive gymnastics when I was three years of age. Both of these sports continued through age 12. When I was 13 years old I stepped on the ice for the first time I knew I had to do something with it and I found ice hockey. From my very first try out I have experienced great success. It feels like it just comes natural for me. I was adopted by my parents at two years of age from an orphanage in the country of Ukraine. My family teases me that ice hockey is just in my DNA. Hockey is not my only love though. I have been working towards my goal of working with animals most of my life. I plan to attend a college where I can major in animal sciences, zoology or biology. I would like to work with large mammals primarily in a zoo setting but I am still exploring opportunities. I believe what sets me apart from other candidates is my dedication to achieving my goals. My first priority is my academic success. Academics do not come easy for me I have to work very hard at it. But I feel like this is may be a blessing because it has taught me to have a very strong work ethic. In terms of ice hockey we have had to overcome a geographic barrier in order for me to play. The closest ice hockey club is an hour and a half from my home. Therefore I guess this is something else that would set me apart from other candidates. I am willing to make the long drives and do whatever it takes to play hockey. Thank you in advance for taking the time to look over my profile.
