Emma Andrus '24 Recruiting Profile

I am both a scholar and an athlete. I am passionate about self improvement and giving my all for my team, whether that team is for hockey, lacrosse, or in the classroom. I have been playing hockey since the age of 8, and there is nothing I crave more than being out on a fresh sheet of ice. I love practice as much as games, well, almost as much. I am fortunate to have played AAA hockey for 3 years in Michigan. I am now moving on to play at Culver Girls Academy for my Junior and Senior years of High School.  I am thrilled to be a part of this terrific program and to get the type of training and development I need to become an outstanding, college-ready athlete. Having access to ice every day is like a dream come true for me.  My hockey experiences have given me confidence that I can compete well at the college level. My strong academics will see me through to my longer term goal of going to graduate school or medical school. Perseverance is my strongest character trait, and I  am not deterred by being the underdog. I will work at something until I get it right. This is true for everything from my hockey skills to my advanced math classes. I am loyal, hardworking and low drama. I tend to lead by example more than with words. Defense has been my preferred position for many years.  More recently, I have been strengthening my offensive game in general and playing wing also.  It is fun for me to get different perspectives on the ice by playing different positions but defense is still my preference.
