My hockey story is interesting, fun, and just beginning. Hockey has unleashed a passion and drive that is propelling my hockey game and development. After I created a hockey stick out of a yard stick, cardboard, and duck tape to practice stick handling, my parents became convinced it was time to give hockey a go. As a family, we dove in with both feet. I started relatively late in terms of age, getting my first set of gear for my 12th Birthday. Eight years prior to this, I spent a few years figure skating so I was able to pick up hockey pretty quickly. Starting mid-season meant ice availability low in my town. I would get up at 4:30 in the morning to make an early morning stick and puck, and it was a fantastic way to start the day. In doing so, my love for the sport was born.
My primary position is defense, but I enjoy playing forward positions as well. I have an aggressive style of play, and love the opportunities to get in on the rush or cycle up during play. I enjoy being a playmaker and appreciate the aspect of succeeding as a team. I have been very fortunate to have been on teams with USHL, ECHL and AHL level coaches that have interest in growing girls hockey. I am grateful for the opportunities to play both CoEd and Girls AAA/AA Hockey. I am currently in my 2nd year of 14U eligibility. Currently working on keeping my head up reading the ice to ensure pass options are identified. I am enjoying the faster paced game and see the value of anticipation.
