My name is Addison Brown. Since the first grade, which has been eleven years and counting, I have been playing hockey. My brother's love for the game led me to wonder if women could compete in hockey. Since then, I've worked hard to improve and advance my skills as a player.
I am an incoming Senior and have been a starting player at Marshfield High School for three years. In addition, I participate in a U19 girls' town summer league and the Bay State Breakers Club. I am now the assistant captain for my high school varsity team, and I will do everything it takes to be the captain for my senior year. I'm convinced that my leadership skills will help me get this position.
My playing style consists of making accurate passes, battling for pucks in tight spaces, using my body to my advantage, and making wise hockey decisions. Regardless of the outcome, I will fight to the very last second of the game. I put in my best effort, and this high school season, I participated in every game. My coach required an additional wing during my freshman year. During the majority of the time I have played hockey, I was on defense. However, this didn't faze me at all. I played as I would want my wingers to play by utilizing my perspective as a defenseman. Eventually, during this high school season, I went from playing left wing on the second line to the first line. I quickly developed a love for playing forward and have done so for the past two and a half hockey seasons. Since then, I have been on the first line. I am a dependable athlete that can play in any position that is required of me.
I have the skills necessary to perform well and the mindset to stay focused under pressure. Since my freshman year, my performance has been better each year, as seen by my statistics. At the college level, I believe I can offer skill, intelligence, and heart.
Thank you for the time and consideration, I look forward to the journey.
