I have been playing hockey since I was 6 years old. I started out playing on a town league and then found a club team two years later. I started off with the Spitfires, were I was on that team for about two years, then in 2012 I decided to move to play for he Minuteman Lady Flames and I have been with them ever since. In addition to playing for my club team, I have also played High School hockey. During my freshman year, I was a varsity player on the Medway/Ashland HS team. I am looking forward to playing with them again this year. It was always in the back of my mind to play college hockey, but for the past few years I have been very serious about wanting to go to the next level. I always like to challenge myself on the ice, whether that be trying out a new move in a game or skating that much faster during sprints at the end of practice.
Along with hockey I have participated in a few other extra curricular activities. I used to play Softball for a few years, and freshman year I played one season of Volleyball. I also have been dancing since the age of 2. I have found that in each sport, it helps with some attribute in hockey, whether it be balance or hand eye coordination. Additionally, I do volunteer work as well. In 2016, I was an Ambassador for Project 351 where I did multiple projects to help people in the state of Massachusetts. I organized a town wide clothing drive and food drive, which helped me learn leadership skills that I have brought to the ice. I have also entered and won the Joanna Senior LeBarre award four consecutive years for Project Alex. This organisation focuses on safety and how to promote it throughout my town. I have also for many many years participated in the walk for Boston Children's Hospital. Each year I raise over $2000 from family donations along with organizing a large yard sale which seems to grow larger as years have gone on. I have been holding the yard sale in the spring for the past eight years.
My grades and my schoolwork are really important to me. I always make sure that I stay focused in school and keep my grades up. I study for all of my tests and am on time with everything I am assigned. My grades my freshman year were A's and B's and I challenged myself by taking honors classes. This year i am taking some honors classes as well and next year I am hoping to add some AP courses.
I have known what I would like to study in College for a few years now. I am looking for a college that offers Physical Therapy/Health Science as a major and offers girls hockey at any level. I really want to continue my hockey career after I graduate from High School.
