Ever since I was seven years old I wanted to become more involved with hockey, and drive to play at the highest level possible as a female athlete... I personally have always looked up to superstar Meghan Duggan as my role model because she has demonstrated to me how to be successful at both academics and hockey – she is the ultimate captain and leader! My long term goal is to play hockey at the colligate level, and hopefully maybe even one day play in the Olympics – one can dream right?? I work hard every day because I know right now I am in the critical development years of my hockey career, being from Boston and in a big hockey family, I try to take advantage of the multiple opportunities presented to me by practicing all forms of hockey daily (on and off ice), playing in several tournaments and showcases, and working with a dedicated personal trainer driving my off-ice development both physically and mentally to be stronger, quicker, and smarter. I have the opportunity threw my junior program to work with multiple coaches presented to me from the Boston Shamrocks Hockey Academy. I feel I bring a strong two-way presence (playing both sides of the puck - offense & defense) to the ice and always play with a consistent, high tempo pace in every game & practice. I am a very passionate team player, and define one of my personal successes in a season by making my teammates better and confident in themselves in any way I can. I always give 100% because I live by the quote "Practice how you play and play how you practice" this has so many meanings I personally relate to! Making time for my academics is a priority because school comes first before anything, it has to, I know school and academics is the end path for me. Time management, and developing tasks orientated goals are how I operate, I have to be disciplined and driven to make this all work, personally I’m confident and happy how things are progressing, I’m not afraid to ask for help when needed and I am lucky I have a schooling system and family that support me to make this all possible and achieve my goals. I look forward to talking and meeting with as many college coaches and staff members I can, this way I can ask for feedback to learn more, improve upon, and get valuable input/advice - with this approach and plan at the age I am at right now I believe this is the key formulation allowing me to be successful in the future and become a strong asset to a collage program.
