Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Amelia Spencer and I am 2007 defensemen from Winthrop MA. My ultimate dream is to play hockey at the college level. I love playing hockey each and every day and I am always trying to improve both in season and off season.

As a student athlete, I make sure I am successful both on and off the ice. My education is just as important as athletics and I take them both very seriously. Due to my competitiveness, I try to be the best student (athlete) day by day. I am an extremely hard worker who is driven to achieve their goals both athletically and academically. Throughout middle school and high school, I have received countless of academic recognitions and achievements. Currently I hold a 4.3 GPA, I am the junior class president, apart of debate club and wellness club, a member of student council, general council, and social committee, and I just recently got inducted into National Honors Society. On and off the ice, in the classroom and out of, and throughout my community, I am an active leader playing a positive role in making people smile.

I am focused to continue to develop and improve my hockey skills as well as striving  to get better everyday. There is always room for improvement and I have put an immense amount of time and effort into hockey. I am looking to put myself into a position where I can continue my hockey career after high school. I am a flexible and cooperative person, classmate, and teammate who is opened to work for anything that comes my way. I believe that I can have a positive impact on any team and any environment, and I am more than willing to put in the work to make that happen.
