I'm motivated to find a college where I can compete in hockey, pursue a degree in graphic design or communications and live in a new area of the country. I've played hockey for 9 years and it's the part of my life that gives me the most validation and inspiration. Nothing compares to the camaraderie of a hockey locker room and nothing compares to physicality and grace of the sport of hockey.
Hockey-wise, I'm a heads-up defenseman, and I love clearing out the crease and making crisp cross-ice passes on perfect break-outs. My coaches would say I have great hockey sense and I'm a strong skater and very accurate passer. I work hard in practice and leave it all on the ice in games.
One motivating factor in terms of college is the ability to travel and experience life outside of Montana. My parents both went to college in Connecticut and I'd love to experience living in a new place and meeting new people as they did. It's tough to decide where and what you want to do with your life if your experiences are limited, right?
