I fell in love with the game at 4 years old and have been playing ever since. In all aspects of life, I aspire to push myself to be the best person that I possibly be, as an athlete, a student, and a person. Ever since I was a young girl, I have dreamed to play collegiate hockey at the highest level possible.
I am a versatile and easily coachable player, and though I am naturally comfortable playing defense, I will seize the opportunity to play another position when it is given to me. I am a team leader, and try to encourage and support my teammates as well as push them to make themselves, and the team, better. I am comfortable working in high pressure situations, and find that I may even thrive in them. I enjoy rising to whatever challenge is presented to me, and find that my diligent work ethic allows me to achieve my goals as well as surpass them.
My diligence also shows itself in the classroom. I take pride in my good grades, and enjoy learning new things. Looking towards the future, I hope to study the sciences or medicine, and to help make a difference in the world. Helping people is something that I enjoy doing. I volunteer with many charities in my community such as organizations working with poverty-stricken people, peer tutoring programs, and volunteer organizations in hospitals.
I also know that it is important to be a well-rounded person outside of hockey. I have played competitive girls lacrosse for 5+ years, and practice musical skills, such as singing and acting. Writing is another hobby of mine that I enjoy.
Pushing myself to rise to my full potential is the idea that I have built my life around, and hockey is no different for me.
Here is some video (~4 minutes) of me in select full shifts, early in the 2017-2018 season: https://youtu.be/02oTvktWZLw. I expect to have more video in the future.
