It is very hard to remember a time where I wasn't playing hockey. I started a little bit older than most girls my age, but that never stopped me from catching up. I started playing when I was seven in my hometown and played there for about 5 years. From the beginning I knew this sport was something I loved and wanted to keep playing for awhile. When I started to notice my potential I left where I was playing to go play at a Tier I level. I will be starting my fourth year with the Syracuse Valley Eagles in the fall and I couldn't be happier where I am.
One of the most important people in my life is my dad, he also happens to be one of my coaches. He has been my coach for almost my whole career and has sure helped me become the player I am today. Another one of my coaches (Coach Cranny). is one of the best coaches I've ever had. He helps me with whatever I need, on and off the ice. He knows the game better than anyone I've ever seen and makes me a better player every time I step on the ice.
What I feel separates me from other players is my drive to be a good a player on both sides of the ice. Even though I play an offensive position I don't feel like that means it's time to relax when we get to the other side of the ice. Backchecking and blocking shots is a big part of my game and can help at very crucial parts in a game. I am also a very aggressive player so winning battles in the corners and being helpful down low is one of my biggest strengths.
My goals are quite simple, I want to take my hockey career to the collegiate level. I knew that could become possible over the past several years, but I also knew that meant I couldn't stop working on becoming a better player. I can always improve some part of my game. Another goal of my is to work hard off the ice. Shooting pucks, working out, getting faster, or making my hands better whenever I can. That's how I can separate myself from others players and become the best I can be.
