Riley Ball '20 Recruiting Profile

Being from North Dakota has taught me a strong work ethic in everything I do.  I am a three sport athlete, I work hard in school and I also work a part-time job most of the year.  School hasn't always been easy for me but I've done all I can to try and get good grades (currently 3.3 gpa).  I've worked with tutors, I go in for extra help and do extra credit whenever I can.  Basically I try and do what needs to be done in order to improve and excel.  I've always been known as team player or "playmaker" in sports.  I'll play whatever position they ask or do whatever they need for the overall good of the team.   Just recently in state soccer, my coach ask me to play goalie when the other goalies got injured even though I normally play defense.  I only let one goal in the entire tournament and we ended up as consolation champs.

My main goal for college is to get a good degree that will allow me to find a good job.  I'd like to play hockey while attending college because I love it.  My dad got me on the ice as soon as I could walk and I've been obsessed ever since.  I just love the game.  I love the camaraderie with my team and other players.  I love working hard.  I'm known for my feistiness and never give up style of play.  I think a lot of that comes from playing with the boys teams for as long as I could.  I've played on the top lines since my sophomore year in high school and we have won the state championship every year I've been on the team.  I've been all-region, all-state and all-tournament over the last two years.

I will work hard and give 100% to my overall college experience and I hope that includes hockey.
