I've been playing hockey since I was 7. I fell in love with the sport at the first day of practice when I fell trying to do a single cross over. The coach told me its okay and that I have to get back up and try again. I work hard and push myself. When I work on something new, I practice it until I get it right, once I get it right, I practice it until it's perfect. My favorite thing about hockey I would have to say is competing. No matter who the opponent is, I'm beating them. I'm beating them in face offs, races to the puck, corner battles. Playing with the team is another thing I love. Creating plays, moving the puck, celebrating goals or wins, its all a team effort. When everyone is working hard and putting the time and effort in, that's what makes a team and it is so much fun to work with them. I love training, maybe sometimes a little too much, being in the gym or in the garage shooting pucks and stick handling is my happy place. Strength training, speed training, mobility. All things I love to work on. I love challenges, on the ice and off the ice. In school, I take every assignment, every quiz or test, as a challenge. Just how I like to push myself in sports to get better, I push myself in school. I want to learn and do good on assignments and tests. I am now 16, and I still think about that time I failed to do a cross over. Every time I fail at something, I get back up and try again.
