Hi coaches! My name is Sofia Bistransin and I have been playing hockey for 13 years. I am currently a junior at Dublin Coffman High School and will be graduating in 2025. I play defense for the CCYHA Girls Blue Jackets 19u team.
I’m a very strong on the puck player. The best part of my game is my ability to dominate 1v1 puck battles, especially in the corners. I have a hard slap-shot and maintain good gap control through all 3 zones. My transitions, edge work, and backward skating are some of my biggest strengths.
In the classroom I maintain a 3.7 gpa while taking honors and AP classes. I am currently taking AP Government and AP English Language as well as Chemistry and Algebra 2. My senior year I plan to take the IB sports science academy that my school offers in addition to College Composition and a handful of other classes.
I have always wanted to play college hockey and I hope to find a school that can help me excel not only in hockey but also in my academics and prepare me for my future. I’m interested in studying exercise science and/or physical therapy.
