Hello, I’m Juliette Thibault, a passionate hockey player who wants to pursue hockey and my studies at the university level.
My abilities and potential have been recognized across Ontario. I was recruited from a U15AA team directly to a top U22AA Elite team (OWHL). I will be developing at this Junior hockey level for a period of 3 years, from 2023-24 season to 2025-26 season. I have recently been invited to the OWHA U18 Camp/try-out in July 2024 and in October 2024 for the Development Team. Additionally, I have been selected by the OWHA U16 High Performance Program in both of my eligible years (2022 and 2023). This achievement is not insignificant as it means I made the program as a minor in 2022 (competing against 2007s) and in 2023 confirming I am among the best 2008 defences in Ontario. In May, I have been invited to the Toronto Maple Leafs Gatorade Fuelling the Future Invitational Camp, where only 20 OWHA 2008 players were selected by OWHA HP to participate including only 5 Defences.
Playing hockey at a college/university level is my goal and I am going above and beyond to succeed. Enrolled in a hockey sport-study program at Louis-Riel High School in Ottawa, I train on ice and off-ice with other students/hockey players and elite coaches. This development is all additional to my regular hockey team program. I also include extra training into my busy schedule such as off-ice strength/conditioning, skating skill sessions, and mental performance coaching.
Identified as gifted early on at school, I have skipped an academic year. Therefore, I am a 2008 but I will be graduating high school (grade 12) in 2025. Even though I am one year younger than my classmates, I always finish at the top of my classes year after year. In June 2024, I have completed grade 11 with top marks. Please know that I will be taking a gap year in order to push my eligibility to 2026.
My character is another one of my strengths. Talented, hard-working, coach-able, intelligent, responsible and joyful have been used by coaches to describe me. I believe to be an impressive candidate for any university women’s hockey program as I offer both, a promising hockey player and a brilliant academic student.
Playing at this level will allow me to push myself and play the game I love while getting a great education for my future. This would also be a great opportunity for me to be a role model and an inspiration for my community and every little girl out there who wants to pursue a similar route! I’m proud of all my accomplishments at school and on the ice and cannot wait to see what the future holds.
I look forward to discussing my interests with you soon!
