I am Amy Wang, a 2007 goaltender for ice hockey. I am currently playing with the Connecticut Polar Bears 19U Tier I team. During the winter semester at prep school, I will be playing with The Hill School girls' varsity hockey team.
My passion for ice hockey traces back to my early years when I was asked to tryout goalie as a mite. From that moment, hockey has been a major aspect of my life. Over 6 seasons of hockey, I have put in relentless effort and commitment, and I often found myself as the sole goalkeeper in some teams. Many of my past coaches have spoken highly of my work ethic and unwavering dedication to the game. Parents and teammates alike have praised me as a reliable team player, noting my ability to get along seamlessly with my teammates across the three clubs I have had the privilege to play for. I have cultivated a reputation for resilience, never giving up, and constantly striving to improve, all the while maintaining my unwavering love for hockey, even during its most challenging moments.
Academically, I excel as a straight-A student with 4.625 GPA, consistently ranking at the top of my class. I was on Hill Dean's list for all 3 terms in 2023-2024 school year, and was named all-academic athlete from both the ice hockey and crew varsity team. Beyond studying and the rink, I am a flutist and proudly held the first chair in the Lambert Symphonic band and attend Hill Orchestra. My musical prowess extends to being selected to participate in district band and all-state auditions.
While I have an undying passion for playing hockey, I am equally committed to achieving excellence in all aspects of my college experience.
