I am a determined, respectful and organized athlete and student. I always do my best in everything I do and I have to surpass myself at every camp to prove coaches that size should not always be at the top of the list to evaluate goalies. I proved it every season. I have been playing ice hockey as a goalie with boys since the age of 5 and at the highest level in Quebec (Peewee AAA) until the age of 13. Last year, I accepted the invitation of the Quebec soccer federation to train every day, from September to May, at their High Performance National Center (CNHP). This made it impossible to play AA in hockey so that I played Bantam BB last year, still with the boys, and I play Midget A this year. To compensate for the smaller number of practices in Midget A, I train with a personal goalie coach both on and off the ice. In 2012, I made the East Coast Select girls team and went to Prague for an international tournament which was a wonderful experience.
I am known as a focused, very technical, fast and consistent goalie. I also do very well under pressure and important games. I have been named MVP in at least one game in every tournament my teams participated in. I attend different goalie camps in the summer to continuously improve and learn new things from different coaches. I also train off the ice 3 times a week for 6 weeks to improve my cardio, speed and power. Two other days of the week, I train on the ice.
I wish to play ice hockey at the highest possible level at university while getting a great education. The United States are, in my opinion, the best place for me to do so and I know that this would be a great challenge and the experience of a lifetime.
My GPA is 3.8. I work hard at school because I want to study at a very good university and become a veterinarian. I would like to get involved in coaching when my hockey “career” is over and own my veterinary clinic. I think sports is a way of life, of meeting new people, of surpassing oneself and believing that everything is possible if you put your mind to it because in life you don’t get what you wish for but what you work for. I hope you will read my complete profile and that it will convince you that I am the student-athlete that you are looking for in 2017.
