At the age of 4, my family moved to Wisconsin from Idaho which opened up my life to the hockey world. I joined my local hockey club at the age of 5 and by the age of 10 I had won a state championship with my squirt team. But earning a spot on Team Wisconsin(TW) has been the highlight of my hockey career. It has taught me the speed and quickness of a higher level of hockey as well as the responsibilities of being a student athlete. From my youth, I dreamed of playing on that team. I would train and condition with Team Wisconsin in mind. However, in 2016, I was one of the last girls to be cut from their U14 tryouts. Going in feeling really confident, my heart was broken. So, I went home and trained with a new level of intensity. I have now been playing with TW for 3 years and have learned to never give up on your dreams or stop improving your skills.
This year will be my 2nd year as captain of my high school team. I am planning on to continue to build up my teammates' skill level and encourage others to have a determined mindset and work ethic. I believe that school should come first and I am looking for a college that will fit me both academically and athletically. I am a quick learner and I do everything with a purpose. I am confident that I will be beneficial to your college hockey program.
