I started lacrosse my freshman year in high school, after watching my brother play. I was put on the JV team, and quickly learned and loved the game. Our team, during my freshman year, made it to the finals, but we lost the game by one point, and came second in league. We were all really upset, but, in the big picture, the loss was good. It fueled me to get better.
I spent the summer practicing and going to camps, and the next season I became a starting defender on Varsity my sophomore year. This sparked my desire to improve and be worthy of my place even more. I had to adjust from man defense to zone, but this learning curve was an amazing challenge that revealed my ability to pick up things very quickly.
Lacrosse has taught me how tenacious I am, and has opened my eyes to how special of an experience being a part of a team really is. It unites you with others in an amazing sport that you all love, and I absolutely treasure this aspect of sports.
I strive to get a 4.0 GPA or higher while continuously growing my game. I plan to take these goals to college.
