Hello, my name is Ryan Katz. Personally I have fallen completely in love with this sport. I quit all my other sports that I was interested in to focus just on lacrosse. To my coaches and family I would be considered as an all around player on the field. Right now at my high school I am a starter as a midfielder for my team. This year was my first year playing high school lacrosse and I was very proud of myself for making the Varsity team.
While I was younger I tried multiple different sports to find the one that I liked to play the most. I was a competitive dancer at many studios for most of my life but right after my Freshman year I decided to focus on lacrosse because this sport gets me excited to go to practice and play games.
Lacrosse first became an interest of mine when my brother started playing when I was younger. My brother has had a great impact on my lacrosse career, and I have him to thank for that and getting me interested in this amazing sport. I have been playing for about 5 and a half years now, I started playing for a club team called the Rattlers and the coaches made me fall in love with the sport even more. Just the dynamic in general, finding new stick skills to master and all the bonding that I get to do with my teammates makes me just want to keep coming back to play another year.
At school I try to be very involved with my friends and my learning abilities. I know I’m going to sound crazy for saying this, but I actually do really love learning while I’m at school. I am open to playing at any level of lacrosse while I’m in college, I definitely want to keep my options broadened while searching for a place to pursue my lacrosse career and what I want to do for a living.
