One of my proudest achievements was earning my junior black belt. Six years of martial arts helped define my character by building my confidence, sportsmanship, and respect towards my peers. Martial arts introduced me to sports and competition at an early age, however; completing the community service project to earn my black belt was a defining moment in my life, motivating me to be the founder and team captain of a Relay for Life team. I selected a team of peers, set fund raising goals, and by our sixth year of participation, we raised a total of $11,000.
As a three-sport athlete, I share my passion of sports by working with younger athletes. I enjoy coaching kids, sharing my experience, and having the opportunity to be a positive role model, demonstrating respect both on and off the field, promoting sportsmanship, helping the kids build their self-confidence and really to just have fun with whatever they are doing.
Overall, I am a well-rounded student, with a positive attitude, who is respectful and a strong leader. I’m looking for a program where my teammates are my family and I can showcase my athletic abilities and leadership skills.
