Sydney Colesworthy '19 Recruiting Profile

My passion for lacrosse has now extended into my 7^th year.  Starting my high school career last year, I earned a spot on the varsity lacrosse team and as a freshman started all season at midfield playing alongside 2 committed Division 1 seniors.  I received 1^st Team All-Conference and was rewarded Rookie of the Year by my high school coach.  I feel so grateful that all my years of hard work in youth sports and Club team training is rewarding me with the joys of playing at these higher levels.  I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity and would be the pinnacle of my athletic dreams.  These accomplishments have given me confidence both on and off the field. 

In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA taking all honors courses. I also volunteer at local summer youth camps while working as a babysitter whenever I can. 

On the field my style of play is recognized most for my athleticism, work ethic, and field vision.  My acceleration and speed to intercept balls, control ground balls and make runs in transition is one of my strongest attributes.  I am a strong two way player and take pride in my passing ability never thinking about myself before a teammate. My coaches and many that have seen me play comment on my natural athleticism in the midfield. A quote from a soccer great Mia Hamm is one I take to the field with me every time I play, "The vision of a champion is bent over, drenched in sweat, at the point of exhaustion, when nobody else is looking"

My main goal is to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and in lacrosse. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match for me at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud.
