I have been playing lacrosse since I was 10 years old. I have dreamed of playing in college since I picked up a stick and walked on to the field.
I was always interested in stepping into the crease. To me it is a very exciting experience. I have worked extremely hard with many coaches to mastered the art of goal tending. In doing so I have developed skills that have made me a quality goal tender. I maintain good body positioning when in the crease, and am not afraid of the ball. I can also clear the ball to the 75 yard line. I gained some of these skills by practicing with our high school boys' varsity team when their goalie was injured. I have even had to teach our JV goalies over the years.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I also volunteer as a lacrosse goalie coach, run the Columbus Fall Classic Youth Hockey tournament's food tent, and manage the varsity volleyball and ice hockey teams. I am also a member of the National Honor Society.
Outside the classroom while maintaining my high GPA I have been able to hold a part time job in an ice hockey arena where I work a register, grill food, and, at times, run the clock for ice hockey games.
I see myself at a college or university where I can excel in the classroom as well as on the lacrosse field.
