Emma Burns '20 Recruiting Profile

I Just finished my Sophomore Year.  I have been playing lacrosse for 6 years and  I am certain that I want to play in college.   Playing with older and more experienced players taught me to play more as a team.  In the past I was bigger than most of the girls and I could just drive the ball to the goal.  I have developed into much more of a team player.  I am aware of where my teammates are on the field and I continue to try to be thinking about what I am going to do next.   I work extremely hard in the off-season,  and my goal is to improve every year.   During my freshman year I tried to lead by example and I worked hard every day, I think that is why my team voted me to be one of our 3 captains.  I always take a team approach to things, and I treat players with respect both on and off the field, it is not something that you can fake, and I think that my teammates know that I genuinely care about the team.  In addition to Lacrosse, I also play golf in the fall and I am actively involved in our ACE program.    Academics always come first for me and I would never let sports get in the way of my grades.  So I work hard in the class room to make sure that this is never an issue.  I am a coachable player and I am respected by my teammates.  I work hard in the classroom and volunteer in my community.  I am above all a good person, and ultimately I think I will be asset to whatever school I choose to attend.   So I hope you will continue to watch me develop over the next few years!
