Ever since I was born, my parents knew I would participate in athletics. My Father played basketball throughout his life and my Mother played softball. So as one may assume, I have grown up in a quite athletic family. My little sister is playing club volleyball and my little brother plays peewee lacrosse. From Pre-K through eighth grade, I went to a private school in Missouri, by the name of St. Paul's Episcopal Day School. Throughout my ten years spent at that remarkable place, I learned numerous life skills. The main goal of the staff was to educate the students not only with school work but with social skills. This experience has most definitely shaped who I am today. Throughout Elementary school, I strived to try every sport possible. I participated in Camp Win every summer and that is where I discovered my passion for lacrosse. In third grade, I began my first season and loved it. However, being a tri-sport athlete is challenging at times. I have learned to focus on school first and manage my time well. Continuing on, my goal is to maintain my 4.0 in high school and continue that trend in college. The biggest obstacle I've had to face while playing lacrosse is meeting people. While that sounds insignificant, I find it to be scary and nerve-racking to make new friends, especially on a team where you are forced to work together instantly. Over the years, I have worked on being more confident when meeting new people and teammates. As for unique skills and characteristics, I like to think that I am a good leader as well as a good follower. I know when to listen and when it is time to stand up.
