For me, lacrosse did not come easy. I first picked up a stick in sixth grade and just like anyone else who had never held a stick before, I struggled. I went to as many clinics and tryouts as I possibly could, until one day in the eighth grade, I finally made a team. Once I really got the basic stick skills down it was easy to expand. I think the fact that lacrosse was a challenge drove me to get better. If you were to ask that sixth grader who could barely hold a stick, if she could even imagine herself playing lacrosse in college, sixth grade me would probably laugh. I look back on my journey and want to prove sixth grade me wrong. In fact, I couldn't imagine myself not playing lacrosse when I graduate. I think my life would feel incomplete without it.
