As a Class of 2023 Defender, I, Rachel Rothstein, am excited to be part of a college that will challenge me both academically and athletically. I come from a family of collegiate athletes (Dad - rugby, Mom- Swimming, Brother- Division I football) and understand and am motivated by the demands of college sports on scholar-athletes. My brother Andrew has had the most significant impact on me as I’ve looked up to him my entire life. He has pushed me to believe that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. Sports have provided me valuable experiences and skills such as time management, being a team player, coachable, ambitious, and versatile. It has pushed me to work harder for everything in life and prepared me for bigger things beyond sports. My work ethic has pushed me off the field to participate in many activities that will show my leadership as I feel this is one of my best traits. I challenge myself with a rigorous academic curriculum including AP classes. I am continually working to be the best person I can be and am ready to see what the next chapter of my life is. I know my hard work will make me successful in collegiate academics, lacrosse, and as a contributing member of a college community.
