It has always been my dream to play college lacrosse. I plan to excel in all of my classes, play and succeed in lacrosse, and graduate with my bachelors and masters degree, pursuing the career that best fits me.
Academics come first for me but I have learned to balance school and all of my sports. They have taught me to manage my time and push myself daily to be a balanced player and person. Lacrosse has shown me how to be confident in myself and use hardships to push forward. Life may bring you down just like a game loss, but you can’t dwell on the past. I use the loss to make me work harder, play harder, and fix my mistakes for the next time. This has helped me become an all-around team player that isn’t afraid to step up, be a leader, and ask questions. I take comments and criticisms to heart, then use them to better myself and be the best player I can be, making me a very coachable player.
Having a better understanding and knowledge of the game comes from a player that plays multiple positions on the court or field. I play more than one position on my soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams. This has helped me know each game better and understand how to react in certain situations. The best understanding and single sport knowledge I have is in the sport of lacrosse. I have played every position on the field, except goalie, since I was in the third grade and alternate between defense and midfield most of the year. It has increased my lacrosse IQ and made me a better lacrosse player on the field.
My biggest influence in life has been my family. I wouldn’t be the same person I am today without their guidance. They never let me give up or fall down without getting back up and I never quit.
