Personal Statement

hello my name is justina bruns. My height is 5'2, weight is 135lbs, my speed I have never clocked, my bench Max IS 85LBS. During my 1st year of playing lacrosse it was also the teams 1st year playing as a team. Since lacrosse isn't as big down where I live it's hard to find girls who want to play, or who have played. Over half of us were 1st year players, only 5 were returners. We played games with limited people, if we were lucky we would have 3 subs. As I said be for we were a 1st year team. Through all odds we all pushed forward and prove that a bunch a 1st year players could look like we had been playing for years. We came 2nd in states and even though it was a blow out we did pretty good for 1st year players. Om this team I was also rewarded as Rookie MVP. During my 1st year an also was invited to play in tournaments with other teams. Since the coaches never really know me they wouldn't put me in at first. Once I got in the first game I stayed in. I amazed people and coaches at the tournaments when I would tell them I was a 1st year player. Throughout this time I had to learn quick and fast. In which I did. There was no such thing as "playing around" at practices, and I let my team mates know that. I would all ways challenge my team mates to push themselves further than they could have though. I was never named a team captain, since it was my 1st year playing. But to me just because you don't have the title doesn't mean you can't be a leader. I wish I could have joined this sport earlier in life but I wasn't able to. The type of school I want to join does not have real distinctive details. I would love to go to any school with an amazing art program. I want to major in Graphic arts. I would like to stay in state or a stat close to N.C. I would love to play for a division 1 team but I do understand my mistakes in not taking school serious will have to pay for it. I would love to play my freshman year at any school that will let me play for them. I understand I may not be a D1 player but I'm willing to take the challenges to become one. Since my family's finances are low I will be applying for the FAFSA.
