My name is Abby McLeodand I am currently a Grade 11 student studying at Lorne park secondary school in Mississauga, ON. I currently play lacrosse for my schools varsity 1 team and have been on this team for grades 10 and 11. In grade 9 I was named captain and MVP of the varsity 2 team. I play attack and I am a fast acting smart player on the field. I am also currently doing training with edge lacrosse outside of school.
I was introduced to lacrosse by the head coaches at my high school. I began in practicing with a few other beginners in the fall of grade nine. Because of my athletic abilities, I was able to quickly pick up the sport and lead my team in scoring my first year playing. I was also named captain and MVP of that same varsity 2 team. The following grade 10 year I was moved up to the highest level for my high school, being Varsity 1. Although the competition was much more difficult, I was able to learn and grow and still excel. I am an extremely coachable athlete and always aim to be the hardest working player on the field.
I am excited to learn about my future opportunities with colleges in the USA. This is something I am still not totally sure on, however determined to learn more about for my up and coming career. I am open to looking at all options that will better not only my athletic abilities, but me as a whole.
I also play rep (BB) hockey for the Mississauga Hurricanes, as well as on my school girls varsity hockey team. Academically, I am a hard working student with a passion to strive in the classroom. I always get my work done on time and finish with grades averaging at about 90%. Overall I am a very determined athlete and I always work my hardest and always try for excellence.
