I have been playing lacrosse ever since elementary school. First on a recreational team called the Bowie Bulldogs for 4 years and most recently on my High School Junior Varsity team this past season. My 8th grade year, we had an almost undefeated season with 8 wins, 1 tie, and 1 loss during the championships. I am very committed to playing lacrosse in college and have aspired to do so ever since I started in 2014. I have been pointed out by my High School Coaches as an energetic leader and a great peer coach. Not only do I play lacrosse, but I have exceptional grades and I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Although I still have alot to learn, I believe that I am a very successful student athlete.
Lacrosse has become a part of my life that I can't live without. I have come to realize that when I am stressed out about school or anything else, I can just step out onto the field and let go. It has become a very important emotional outlet for me. I also owe a lot of my success to my first coaches, they taught me to try to relax and how to adapt to certain situations on the field. My team used to have outings three times a season, which contributed to the fact that I deeply cherish the family aspect of the teams I am on. My ideal team peer coaches each other, and provides constructive criticism. Not only do they point things out, but we learn from each other. The most important thing I learned from playing lacrosse is that we are all working for the same thing, so we should always do everything we can to help each other achieve our collective goal.
