Around the age of 10, I became very interested in lacrosse. It was my gym teacher who suggested that I try out for the girls lacrosse team that year. While playing lacrosse, I realized that I lead by example and younger players would look up to me as a natural leader. My academic goals for high school are keeping straight A’s while being a student-athlete in the fall and spring. In college, I plan to earn a bachelor’s degree in 4 years while playing lacrosse and field hockey.
An obstacle that I had to overcome was not having a lot of self confidence, but once I found that self confidence, it was like no one could stop me from getting to my goal. Some unique characteristics that I have are self discipline, determination, and having a positive attitude. Most of these characteristics have been influenced by my teammates or coaches. Something that influenced who I am is the fact that I grew up with mostly boys as neighbors. So it was rough playing with them but it sparked me to never give up and keep pushing through.
