My name Is Maya, I'm a junior in Highschool and I'm midfielder in lacrosse. I have been playing lacrosse for almost three years now, I started my freshman year, I absolutely fell in love with it, I have always been playing sports since I was 6 years old, Mostly swimming and synchronized swimming for 10 years, but I feel as though I never loved playing a sport as much as this one. I love learning new skills and improving so I can be better for next time. I will always push myself to be better than the last time and learn from my mistakes and take advice from team mates and coaches. I push myself in school, honor roll student, always focusing on my school work and practicing for lacrosse. Playing college lacrosse has been my goal ever since I started playing freshman year. I know that no matter what team I will be on, I will just work just as hard and continue to push myself and not give up to make my goals a reality; because I will be positive no matter what, towards my team mates and coaches. I will be me and continue to prove myself at all times, and show that I really want this. My number one goal is to play Division I lacrosse, but sometimes I get asked "How come you don't want to do swimming in college Instead of lacrosse"? And honestly it's because I can't imagine my life without playing lacrosse after High school and that for me was really like "Wow" I really don't want to stop playing because I will miss it too much. My team and my coaches are like a 2nd family to me, I'm always exited to go to practice and play with my friends and improve on my skills. I am very determined when I have a goal set, either academically or athletic wise. I never want to be a quitter, and I will always listen and take the advice because I know it's going to help me when I'm on that field. I don't want to compare myself to other people, because I think "I'm me and only me" and that always keeps me mind positive about how I can do things. And not only am I doing this for myself and but also for my Mom, because she has always been there for me, no matter what always went out of her way to make sure that I got to practice on time and picking me up. I know she always wants what's best for me, and I want to make her proud. I really look up to her and she's a fighter, she is the one that inspires me to go after what I want and never to give up even if it seems hard at the time because in the end it'll all be worth it.
