This is my second year playing. In my first year, my high school, Westside, tried to make a lacrosse team last year but it didn't hold up the next year so I found my current team with Stratford, a team I am quite proud to be a part of. I began on Jv but moved up to varsity halfway through the 2018 season. As a team we became D2 Texas South district champions and are on our way to state.
As a high school athlete I also compete in Jv volleyball and upcoming in varsity soccer for my actual school, Westside. In a team I like to be and look for where I can help strengthen the team as a whole the most, regardless of personal gain or loss such as dropping to defense thus lowering personal opportunity to score but holding a strong defense to prevent the other team from doing so as well.
Academically I am a part of a program at Westside called Futures where I take college classes after and during school, with 5 weeks of summer classes so that I graduate with an associates degree in science. Independently from this program I am taking the Ap classes of World History and Biology in my sophmore year.
I am more focused on finding a college team in lacrosse over my other sports because I feel a certain challenge and sense of achievement (a passion some would say) with lacrosse that just is not the same or at such an intensity in soccer or volleyball.
