I first became interested in lacrosse in 5th grade when I moved from Virginia to Utah- I had never played a team sport, and wanted to meet new people and make friends, from there it quickly consumed my interest. This program allowed for me to develop, on and off the field, challenging my athleticism, helping me develop more self-confidence, and learning how to be apart of a team, skills that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Transitioning to my high school lacrosse team truly challenged me as a player. I was new to the school and the team, and balancing challenging classes with daily practice proved difficult at first, and different team dynamics made the season hard as well, but allowed me to step up as a leader, and help my teammates develop with me. However, this past year, (my sophomore year), my team was able to exceed expectations, moving up a division, and breaking school records. I was able to improve myself, and even move from defense to midfield. Ranking 3rd in the state was a huge success, and a spectacular event to be apart of.
I have learned the value of hard work and commitment these past two years and the program, and I will continue to improve myself these next two years, challenging myself athletically and academically. I'm looking for a program that will push me to grow and develop as a player while also pushing me as a student. I am driven, diligent, and a natural leader. I believe I have the skills to compete at the college level and make an impact on the college program.
