Personal Statement

(Committed to Washington College) I aspire to play lacrosse at the best academic school possible.  Although I am undecided about a major, I want to study at a school that would be a stretch for me academically and contribute to my being able to continue in graduate school or professional studies.

I am a well-balanced student in being a multi-sport athlete (varsity golf, swimming, lacrosse, and junior varsity basketball), playing violin in my high school's advanced chamber orchestra and participating in the Tri-M Music Honor Society, leading the 2nd violin section in the audition-based community youth orchestra, and participating in Young Life and Girl Scouts.

I am very team oriented and a strong communicator.  I have been told that I help my defenders play better. I pride myself on being an aggressive player and strive to keep improving and growing into the best player I can possibly be.

  • 12/08/19 to 12/08/19

  • IWLCA Brine President's Cup
  • 11/22/19 to 11/24/19
  • I played the entirety of all four games as goalie for the Carolina Lady Miners. We were in a tough bracket and went 1-3, so the coaches got to see a lot of my ability in goal. Finished with a 60% save rate.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2019 Raleigh Lax Fest
  • 11/09/19 to 11/10/19
  • On day one, we started out flat and lost the opening game to a team we should have beaten, won the second , and lost the third game to the eventual bracket champion. On day two, we won both games to top the loser bracket. In the final, I had a shut-out second half to win 4-2 from a 2-2 halftime tie. We finished with a 3-2 record.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2019 Southern Lacrosse Showcase
  • 10/19/19 to 10/20/19
  • We missed the final by one game with a 3-1-1 record. I shared time with the other Carolina Lady Miners goalie. I had one shut-out half in the 3rd game; two one-goal halves in the 1st and 2nd games, respectively; and a two-goal half in another game. The other team had a great draw specialist in our final game, and we barely had possession aside from turnovers and saves.

Training

  • Goalie/Prospect Camps
  • 3 years
  • There are no travel teams in my home area. As such, I have tried to advance my skills by attending recruiting prospect camps, summer camps, and tournaments. In 2019, I was fortunate to find the Carolina Lady MIners (Charlotte, NC) and had a wonderful time playing goalie with them in the 2019 IWLCA Champions Cup, Southern Lacrosse Showcase, Raleigh Lax Fest, and IWLCA President's Cup.
