Personal Statement

 Collegiate goals and aspirations

I intend to earn a pre-med undergraduate degree that sets me up for medical school so I can become a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. I am optimistic that I can earn scholarships to help me pay for my undergraduate education.

I like Osteopathic Medicine because it enables me to be with people, help them and focus on a holistic solution to their medical issues.

I know that playing lacrosse and taking pre-med courses will be a challenge, but I’m used to the pressure.  I’m social, but I don’t like to “party”, so I prefer to keep a full schedule that gives me plenty of time with my “sisters” on the team.

What makes you a good candidate for their team?

I like winning.  I’m super competitive, even with my own teammates, but in a really positive way.  My best friends are my teammates and we are always trying to outdo each other.  I can’t imagine any other way for a team to be.

I really try to be as “coach-able” and respectful as I can possibly be, and I think if you asked my coaches what my greatest strength is, they would say coachability.  After that, I would say that I have natural athleticism that I can adapt to any task.

I don’t have a need to always be the one who scores (as long as someone is scoring and we are winning).  I’m just as happy making assists, defending the goal and forcing turnovers.

I’m a happy person.  Every day is a good day for me, and I think I bring positivity to every team.

What makes you different from other recruits in character, athletics and academics?

I am very dedicated to my academics, and I make them a priority in my life. I believe to be a truly well-rounded player, I must also strive to be the best student I can be.

Running and footwork is a strength I have in athletics. I really enjoy team sports because of the lasting relationships that can be made.

I’ve been on “good” teams that lost most games and “bad” teams that won most games. In my opinion, good and bad is defined by how the team members relate to each other and to the coach.  Winning is important to me, but never at the expense of having a toxic atmosphere on the team. I consider my teammates to be my sisters.  “Families” look after each other, especially on the field,  and that’s what a team needs to really be “winners”.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
