Personal Statement

As a future collegiate rower, my goal is to eventually reach a 2k of sub 7:35 by the end of Spring Season 2023. I aspire to be recruited and potentially get an athletic scholarship for rowing. I am a great candidate for any competitive rowing team because I am an extremely driven and hard-working individual, who will do what it takes to reach my goals and follow my dreams. Academic-wise, I am also overly inclined to study and research a lot. I am currently taking college classes at a community college in my area, as well as honors courses, and next year I plan on taking more AP courses. I am always looking to broaden my horizon, both in rowing and academically too. My favorite subjects in school would include Government and Physics. I plan on studying Criminal Justice or a form of Political Science in college.  I have strong aspirations of serving as an Officer in the Coast Guard branch, and potentially the FBI as well. I love learning new things, and I always try to keep an open mind and have plenty of perseverance.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Naval Academy Rowing Camp
  • 6/26/22 to 6/30/22
  • During this rowing program, I learned a lot about how the mind and body connection is crucial to keeping good form and technique on the water and the erg. Thanks to the coaches that I learned from, I now row and erg feet out whenever doing steady state or longer pieces. This has really helped me to become a faster rower on the water.
  • Camp/Event
  • Dolphin Rowing Camp
  • 6/20/21 to 6/25/21
  • This was the first rowing camp I have ever attended, and I really enjoyed the program because it gave me lots of insight into what I needed to work on as a novice rower. This camp truly transformed my sweeping technique. I loved how the coaches would take videos of us on the water, and we would get to hear their feedback on land.
