My name is Gillian Dodge, and I have been a rower since my freshman year of high school. I took an interest in rowing after attending a summer camp the summer before 9th grade, and I have been dedicated to the sport ever since. I consider myself a very goal-driven person; I aim to work as hard as possible in what I do, whether that is academically or athletically.
The thing that stuck out to me when I first joined rowing was the team aspect of the sport. Everyone on the team works together to make the boat and each other faster. I value teamwork and supporting my teammates, as working together for a common goal is, in my opinion, one of the greatest things about this sport.
I grew to love this sport my first year of high school, and I hope to continue to row through college and beyond.
