Hi! My name is Sophia Witman, and I am a senior at the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA).
I am a dedicated athlete with a passion for rowing. I rowed for one season in middle school, and I have since continued rowing while in high school. In fact, I started the rowing team at LSMSA. Rowing has quickly become an integral part of my life, and I am constantly striving to improve my skills and push myself to new heights. I know there is still a lot of room for growth, and I am committed to continuing to push myself to new heights, both physically and mentally.
In addition to my passion for athletics, I am also a dedicated student who values academic excellence. I am currently enrolled in a rigorous academic program at LSMSA which has helped me develop strong time management and organizational skills in our college-like environment. We live in dorms and attend classes on a college campus. I am confident that the skills I have gained at LSMSA will be valuable assets as I pursue both my athletic and academic goals at the collegiate level. In college, I plan on getting a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in conservation biology.
When I'm not rowing or studying, I enjoy spending time outdoors, reading, exploring new places, and spending time with my friends and dogs. I am also passionate about community service. I volunteer regularly with local organizations like FAUNA and APHN.
I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and am eager to continue pursuing my passions for rowing, academics, and community service. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me, and I look forward to connecting with more colleges!
