Hi!
My name is Julia Chirco and I come from Beverly, Massachusetts my club is Gordon Rowing Association and I am in the class of 2025. Our club is fairly small, established in 2019, with an average of 10-15 girls in the combined U17 and U19 categories.
As I explore potential undergraduate options, I'm seeking a school with strong academics, particularly in political science or English programs. I hope that after college I'll be able to become a real estate lawyer so I'm looking for a good undergraduate school that will be able to set me up for a successful graduate education.
As an athlete and a rower, I have found that my best strengths are my ability to push myself harder every day and my need to be the best version of myself on and off the water. I'm always willing to push myself until I surpass standards. If I don't meet a requirement or benchmark I will push myself until I meet it. Something that makes me different from other recruits is my ability to self-advocate. I never wait for an issue to become a habit and I always like to improve; therefore, I either ask my coaches to give me tips to apply or am researching ways to be the best possible rower. Having a collegiate team connected to my club has shown me the dedication required to succeed as a college rower.
Academically, I approach each class with a commitment to excellence, so I'm hoping to go to a school where teachers will encourage their students to do their best. I am eager to connect with coaches and am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
Looking forward to connecting!
Julia Chirco
