I am currently a junior at Duxbury High School and have been a three-sport athlete for the past two years, and plan to focus and solidify my skills on the rowing and hockey team this year. Previously I rowed port, but this season I will be pulling starboard in the mid-section of the boat. During my novice season freshman year, I was awarded the "hammer" award which is given to the athlete with the fastest 2k time that season on our team; my time was 8:03. I am in my fall season currently, rowing in the 1V8 open weight and 1V4 open weight. In the eight I sit in 5 seat and in the 4 I will sit in 3 seat. My current 2k time is 7:51 as of September 13, 2023. In my novice season rowing for Duxbury Bay Maritime School, I was in the first eight either as stroke or 7 seat and our team won the state championship in Lowell MA. During my first Varsity season, I was in 2V8 where we won 1st place at states in our heat and earned the state championship as a whole team. Also participating in the 2V8, we won the petite NEIRA race in 2023. During the winter season I am on the Duxbury Girls Varsity hockey team and this past winter season we won the Division II State Championship at TD Garden. We went back to the Garden this year and defended our State Title going back-to-back State Champions for the year of 2024. Athletics and the opportunities they bring have been incredibly important to my family, as my older sister Bridget rowed at UMASS Amherst, competing in the lightweight boat before becoming a coxswain of the 2V for the following three years. She was also a member of the Commonwealth Honors College at UMASS. My older brother Quinn plays football at the University of Notre Dame. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree in data analytics while taking his fifth year on the field. My other older sister Erin is a diver at Northeastern University and holds many school records along with being awarded CAA diver of the year. Being able to look up to such great athletes and academic role models has been a privilege and I am eternally grateful to call them family. At a young age I set a goal for myself to one day become a Division I athlete and I believe rowing may provide the opportunity to do so. My discipline, hardworking mindset, coachability, and love for the sport set me apart and could be advantageous in a collegiate sports setting. I look forward to continuing this process while getting to know collegiate coaches and their programs. Please feel free to reach out anytime! Thank you.
