Hi! I’m Gwendolyn! I am 16 years old and I started rowing half way through my sophomore year. I was born in Hawaii and have lived in 5 states and 2 countries. I love adventure, travel, and challenging myself. My first foray into athletics was through Krav Maga and Roller Derby. I played on the varsity team of Detroit Junior Roller Derby for a little more than two years. I discovered rowing while working out with my trainer at the Krav Maga gym. I joined the Detroit Boat Club Crew team in January of 2020 and fell instantly in love. I love the focus it takes- having to dig deep and sit in the pain to get it done makes me feel that I have the grit to accomplish anything. I really want to work in wildlife conservation so I’m looking for a school with a strong science program that has a major in either biology, environmental sciences, conservation, or something similar. I am a strong student and avid learner and cannot wait to go to college. I am excited for the opportunity to row at a college level.
