Being a rower is not just about being physically strong but mentally as well. I can push my body to the limit as well as encourage my boat todo the same. I am usually in doubles or quads as a sculler.
This past summer (2018) I had an amazing opportunity to go on a medical fellowship in Croatia. I was in the hospital every day doing clinical shadowing and being able to meet new people and hopefully future colleagues. Over this summer I was able to learn new leadership skills as I was surrounded by amazing surgeons and seeing how they interact with patients, colleagues, and others. I believe that to be a rower you have to be a good leader because people will look up to you. You have to be able to make good decisions and show others the best image you can be. I want people to look up to me, not just as a rower but as a person with good leadership.
