After a fun-filled nature trip with my Aunt and Uncle in Wisconsin at the age of 7, I started to Kayak for the OKC Riversport Kayaking club. I participated in Kayaking from age 7 to 10. I loved being on the water but wanted comradery with a true team atmosphere. When I was 11 years old, my parents found out I could start Rowing with the development group at the OKC Chesapeake Boathouse. I found my niche and loved the team spirit and connections with individuals that have the same desire to improve myself personally, physically and emotionally. I participated in the Development group for 2 years until I felt I could put 110% into the group. I currently row at Oklahoma City's Chesapeake Boathouse on the varsity girls competitive team after 1 year as a novice rower (I have metaled in 5 races in the last 12 months including a bronze in a single). I plan to strive to do my very best with whatever I participate in.
I had straight A's in all classes including 4 Pre-AP courses this past semester and I'm starting my 2nd semester of my sophomore year. I have continued to excel both academically and athletically through this sophomore year in high school. One of my goals is to row in college. I am an extremely dedicated person and I love to know what I can improve on in sports and in my education. Additional goals are to attend a college in my chosen field and succeed in my college studies resulting in a Bachelor's degree (further degrees included) and participate in collegiate rowing. My ultimate goal is to become an engineer- either mechanical, Aeronautical or Civil Engineer.
I would love to entertain the idea of evaluating different colleges throughout the country. I have some favorites but I'm open to different prospects.
I’m a very healthy person but had a car accident (hit and run) 10/12/18 and suffered a concussion leading to a harder semester (grades slighter lower than my all A’s habit and lower ACT score in Dec 2018). I was cleared from my concussion restrictions on 1/3/19. This hasn’t affected my fall rowing and I’m back to rowing for this spring season. I plan to retake the ACT and my first SAT this semester. I look forward to the next 6 months in rowing, continuing my education and making decisions for my future.
