Personal Statement
I've been rowing since seventh grade, when I impulsively decided to join a summer team. SInce then, I've faced a number of potentially career-ending injuries (most recently, a broken leg from a car accident). However, my continuing love and dedication to the sport has given me the drive to get back on the water, no matter what. I believe in giving my everything to whatever it is I'm doing, whether a piece on the water or an exam in the classroom. I know the value of focus, drive, and hard work. I hope to be rowing for the rest of my life, and competing as long as I can stay ahead of injuries.
